Our Story

Hummed Sound Therapies was born from a simple observation: the research on brainwave entrainment is genuinely compelling, but the products available to consumers are not. Most sound therapy apps are built by technologists or wellness marketers, not clinicians who understand how to translate research protocols into safe, effective therapeutic tools.

At Hummel Medical, our naturopathic practice in Ashland, Oregon, we've always worked at the intersection of evidence-based medicine and integrative wellness. When we reviewed over 85 peer-reviewed studies on binaural beats, isochronic tones, and vibroacoustic therapy, we found consistent clinical evidence for specific applications, but also gaps between what the research supported and what products claimed.

So we built Hummed: a therapeutic audio app where every track is based on validated clinical protocols, every frequency choice is research-justified, and every claim we make is backed by evidence. Where the research is uncertain, we say so. That's what evidence-based practice looks like.

With expertise spanning naturopathic medicine, functional nutrition, integrative oncology, and longevity medicine, Mary bridges clinical expertise with technical execution. She leads audio production, app development, and digital product design, ensuring that clinical protocols are faithfully translated into precisely engineered therapeutic audio.
